Condenser coil fouled in a shared storage closet. When the ice machine shares a closet with dry storage or a mop sink, airflow around the condenser suffers and grease and flour dust collect on the fins faster than in an open utility room. Head pressure rises, amp draw climbs, and the run capacitor eventually fails. We clean the coil properly and check clearance around the unit while we're there.
Auger seal wear from steady weekend bar volume. Danville's weekend bar rush cycles a Chewblet auger hard for two or three days and then eases off, and that pattern wears the auger seal unevenly. Once the seal goes, water bypasses into the chute and the ice comes out wet or slushy. We replace the bearing and seal as a set.
Symphony Plus dispenser valve sticking at the host stand. A host stand water and soda dispenser gets used constantly during dinner service and barely at all midday, and that uneven cycle is a common cause of a sticky valve that either drips or hesitates. We clean and test the valve along with the sensor rather than swapping parts blind.
