We’re Manitowoc-certified. On February 12, 2026 our owner Andrew finished the Manitowoc Ice and Koolaire Field Service Seminar, run by Manitowoc Ice through Pentair Water Solutions with Jonathan A. Binley teaching it. That put us through factory training on the Indigo NXT modular line, the NEO undercounter units, the QuietQube remote condenser setup, and Koolaire. One honest note: that training certifies us to repair and service these machines. We’re not a Manitowoc sales dealer, and we don’t pretend to be.

What actually breaks

The Indigo NXT runs its own diagnostics and posts a code when something’s off, if the operator knows to look. The call we get most is a stuck harvest cycle. Ice freezes onto the evaporator and never releases. Usually that’s the water curtain failing to trip the harvest valve, or the harvest sensor frozen over. We keep the harvest valve coil and the curtain switch on the truck, so most of these involve parts we usually stock we roll up.

Both the Indigo NXT and the NEO undercounter throw a condenser-clean reminder that owners tend to wave off until the machine trips on a high-pressure fault and quits cold. The repair is straightforward: clean the coil, swap the air filter, run a service cycle. We note the cleaning interval and tape a maintenance schedule inside the panel before we leave. Kitchens that stick to it routinely squeeze a few extra years out of the unit.

QuietQube remote setups tend to give out at the head-pressure regulator on the rooftop condenser. The Bay Area’s swing from hot afternoon to cool evening works that valve hard, day after day. We pressure-test it, replace the regulator when it’s drifting out of range, and confirm head pressure holds at peak ambient.

Koolaire is Manitowoc’s budget brand and shares roughly 80 percent of its parts with the Indigo line, so we stock for both. If your Koolaire is still under warranty, the seminar training covers that paperwork too.

Sealed-system and water notes

When a repair goes into the sealed system, we recover, evacuate, and weigh in the charge in-house. We hold EPA #1279674151528 under Section 608 for refrigerant handling, and we’re HC(A3)/R290 trained through Mainstream Engineering for hydrocarbon units.

On Bay Area hard water, change the inlet filter every six months, not the twelve the printed manual quotes. Scale builds faster here. Ask us about a service plan that folds the filter swaps in.
