The cheapest repair is the one that never happens

We run preventive maintenance on commercial refrigeration across the East Bay and Tri-Valley: reach-ins, prep tables, walk-ins, and ice machines for restaurants, bars, cafes, grocery, and convenience stores. Most commercial failures aren’t a bang. They’re a tired door gasket and a service visit that kept sliding. When the gasket stops sealing, warm air sneaks in and the compressor never gets to cycle off. It runs flat out trying to hold temp. Your power bill climbs, the compressor wears years early, and nobody notices because it happens slowly. Then one morning the box is at 50 degrees and the gasket you skipped turned into a compressor swap plus a cooler full of spoiled inventory.

What a maintenance visit covers

We go after the parts that fail first and hurt most when they’re ignored:

• Door gaskets. Inspected and flagged before they start overworking the compressor.
• Condenser coils. Cleaned so the unit isn’t fighting a blanket of its own dust.
• Temps and controls. Verified that each box is actually holding spec, not just reading it.
• Drains and fans. Cleared and checked before a clog backs up or a motor seizes.

Ice machines get a full teardown clean and sanitize to health-department standard. A scaled, slimed evaporator runs slow and fails inspection. We’re Manitowoc factory-trained (Indigo NXT, NEO, QuietQube, Koolaire) and clean every brand we touch.

Ice machine sanitizing needs specialized cleaners, which is baked into that price. Final cost depends on how many units and what shape they’re in.

Monitoring catches what visits can’t

Maintenance keeps the box healthy between visits, but a unit can drift out of range at 2 AM on a day nobody’s there. A WiFi temperature sensor on the walk-in or reach-in texts you the moment it climbs past your threshold. That’s the difference between moving product to another cooler and tossing it in the dumpster.
