Local water is moderately hard, so scale builds on the evaporator plate and you get thin cubes, long harvest cycles, or a machine that quits making ice. We descale, replace water valves and float switches, and rebuild harvest assemblies. Every other brand, Hoshizaki and Scotsman included, we service as an independent shop.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Thin cubes and long harvest from scale. Castro Valley's moderately hard water builds scale on the evaporator plate, and the market and bar machines start dropping thin cubes with stretched-out harvest cycles. We descale the water circuit, replace fouled water valves and float switches off the truck, and check the inlet filter.
- Harvest assembly rebuilds. When the harvest won't release on an Indigo NXT or NEO, it's usually the water curtain not tripping the harvest valve or a frosted sensor. We rebuild the harvest assembly and carry the valve coil and curtain switch, so most no-ice calls close on the first visit.
- Condenser-clean and high-pressure faults. The condenser-clean reminder gets ignored on these units until the machine trips on high pressure and quits. We clean the coil, replace the air filter, run a service cycle, and leave a written cleaning interval inside the panel.
