- Hard water and scale. Blackhawk's water is hard, and hard water is what kills ice machines. Scale builds on the Scotsman evaporator plate, harvest cycles drag, the bin fills slow, and eventually the machine quits. A real descale and a water-filter program is a lot cheaper than a new head, and we'll set you up so it stops surprising you.
- Harvest, water-valve, and sensor faults. Prodigy ELITE cubers code out on water, harvest, or sensor trouble. A machine making thin cubes or refusing to drop a harvest is usually a failing water inlet valve, a stuck float, or a fouled harvest thermistor. We carry those parts on the truck, so most Blackhawk calls close in a single trip.
- Sealed-system repair in-house. If a Scotsman short-cycles or never gets cold, we're into the sealed system. Compressor, leak repair, recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in are all done in-house under EPA #1279674151528. We're R290-trained for newer hydrocarbon units. No quick top-off and a callback in two weeks.
