Anti-sweat heater wire runs the door frame to keep the glass clear, and out here it wears out sooner than it does a few miles inland. When it fails, the door fogs and customers can't see the product. We test the wire, replace it, and check the humidistat that runs it.
- Walk-in evaporators icing over. A walk-in coil that's building ice faster than it should usually points to a stuck defrost timer or a failed defrost heater. Airflow drops, the box climbs in temperature, and product starts to sweat. I check the defrost circuit before I ever touch the compressor, since that's where this fails most in Daly City's air.
- Sealed-system and leak repair. Older True units eventually open a line and lose charge. We do recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in in-house under EPA #1279674151528, and we're R290 trained for the newer hydrocarbon units too.
