True in Alamo
True refrigeration in Alamo.
Alamo doesn't run a big restaurant row, but the True gear it does have can't sit dead. A plaza kitchen off Danville Boulevard with a reach-in full of prep, the deli case inside the Alamo Plaza grocery anchor, an under-counter bottle cooler behind a bar. When one warms up, there's product on the line, and the call usually starts the same way.
True cabinets are built well and they last, so most of what we see here is age and wear, not a defect. A thermostat that's drifted off setpoint after years of service, a torn door gasket, or a tired condenser fan motor. We carry the common controls, fan motors, relays, and gasket stock on the truck, so a lot of Alamo True calls finish in one trip.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Reach-in running warm. The single most common True call is a temperature problem, usually a control or thermostat that's gone bad over the years. That repair starts around $250 in labor plus the part. We confirm the actual cause before quoting, and you get the number in writing first.
- Torn door gaskets. Gaskets are the quiet killer. On a plaza reach-in that gets opened a hundred times a shift, a dried, torn seal lets warm air in and runs the compressor nonstop. It's one of the cheapest fixes on the truck, and doing it on time saves the expensive part down the line.
- Sealed-system leaks. After fifteen or twenty years, compressor vibration and corrosion open a line and the charge bleeds off. We do this in-house under EPA #1279674151528: recover, pull a proper vacuum, fix the leak, weigh in the new charge by the gram. A full sealed-system rebuild can run up to $4000, backed by a two-year warranty.

FAQ
True in Alamo questions, answered.
-
Are you a factory-authorized True dealer?
No. We service True as an independent shop. We know the gear and we fix it right, but we're not a True sales dealer. The only equipment we hold a factory certification on is Manitowoc ice machines. -
My True bottle cooler at the bar won't hold cold. Same-day in Alamo?
Usually, yes. Alamo is a short run up 680 from our San Ramon base, and we push outages to the front of the day. Tell the dispatcher it's down. We're out 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days, same number after hours. -
What's the diagnostic cost?
It's a flat $75 for a real inspection, not a guess. We waive it when you approve the repair, and you get a written quote before any work either way.
