Woodside doesn't have much of a commercial strip, Buck's is the one kitchen in town everyone knows, and most of our Hoshizaki work here is out on the estate properties instead, a pool house bar, a barn kitchen set up for a horse show weekend, somewhere the owner put in a real ice machine instead of a small countertop unit.

- Well water sediment fouling the water valve. A lot of Woodside's larger properties are still on well water instead of the municipal supply, and sediment in that water fouls a Hoshizaki water valve or clogs the float switch screen faster than the treated water most cities run. When a machine won't fill or runs long past a normal cycle out here, I check the valve and screen for grit before I look anywhere else.
- Pool house condensers boxed in too tight. A Hoshizaki unit built into a pool house cabinet or a barn tack room often doesn't get the air clearance the compressor needs, and it runs high head pressure and short-cycles as a result. I check the install and clean the coil before I assume the compressor itself has failed.
- Barn kitchen machines idle most of the year. A lot of the equestrian properties only run their ice machine hard during a show weekend or an event, and a unit that sits idle for months tends to have a stuck harvest valve or a bin switch nobody noticed had failed. I run a full cycle and check the harvest valve on these before the next event, not after it fails during one.
