KM head evaporator scale. A Hoshizaki KM head that's dropped cube weight or slowed harvest is usually scale building on the evaporator plate. Atherton's water isn't the hardest in the Bay Area, but a machine nobody descales gets there eventually. We clean it, swap the filter, and set an interval.
Water valve and float switch faults. A stuck float switch or a fouled water valve shows up as a bin that won't fill or a head that runs long past a normal cycle. We test and replace the part, then confirm a full harvest cycle before we call it done.
Air-cooled condenser airflow. Hoshizaki air-cooled heads tucked into a pool-house mechanical closet need real airflow clearance, and a unit boxed in too tight runs high head pressure and short-cycles. We check the install and clean the coil before assuming a compressor fault.
