- Dispenser not freezing or slushing. A Crathco unit that's stopped freezing product usually has a low refrigerant charge from a leak in the R290 sealed system, or a failed compressor. We recover, evacuate, and weigh in a correct charge in-house under EPA #1279674151528 rather than just topping it off.
- Auger motor grinding or stalled. The auger that keeps product moving and scraping the freeze cylinder can bind or wear its motor coupling, which shows up as grinding noise or the auger stopping mid-shift. We check the coupling and the motor and replace whichever's failed.
- Product too thin or too thick. A dispenser making product too watery or too thick usually points to a control board that's lost its consistency setting or a mix ratio that's off. We test the control and adjust the actual cause instead of just changing the mix and hoping it fixes itself.
