Atosa in Lafayette
Atosa refrigeration in Lafayette.
Most of Lafayette's commercial kitchens sit downtown along Mt. Diablo Boulevard and around La Fiesta Square, and the newer spots opened on Atosa. Sit-down restaurants, a couple of bars, bakeries with display cases, and the markets off Pleasant Hill Road run reach-ins and prep tables that get opened a hundred times a shift. It's not a high-volume corridor, but these operators run tight rooms and notice the second a box drifts warm. We service Atosa as an independent shop, no dealer claims.
Atosa is the cheap commercial workhorse, and the failures track the equipment: prep tables warming because the condenser's packed with flour and grease, reach-in gaskets torn at the hinge so the door never really seals, evaporator fans seizing and icing the coil. We carry fan motors, relays, thermostats, gaskets, and start components on the truck, so a fix doesn't turn into three return trips. Downtown Lafayette is a quick run off Highway 24.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Prep tables warming on a dirty coil. A Lafayette bakery or restaurant runs its Atosa MGF prep table open all shift, and the condenser packs with flour and grease until the compressor runs hot and the rail swings warm. We pull and clean the coil, clear any iced evaporator, and check the rail temperature across the pans. If the drain's clogged, we blow it clear and add an inline screen.
- Reach-in gaskets and fans. The MBF reach-in gaskets tear at the hinge so the door never really seals, warm air sneaks past, and the box ices over. The evaporator fan motors seize and ice the coil too. We swap the gasket, clear the evaporator, replace the fan motor from truck stock, and check the seal through its full swing.
- R290 sealed-system work. A lot of the hydrocarbon Atosa units around town run R290 propane refrigerant, and we're HC/R290 trained through Mainstream Engineering for them under EPA #1279674151528. Sealed-system repairs, recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in are done in-house. Lafayette's water runs moderately hard, so we check any undercounter ice plate for scale too.

FAQ
Atosa in Lafayette questions, answered.
-
Do you service Atosa for downtown Lafayette kitchens?
Yes. The restaurants and bakeries along Mt. Diablo Boulevard and around La Fiesta Square run Atosa, and we service it as an independent shop, no authorization claimed. Most repairs run from $250 plus parts, a clogged drain from $200. Downtown is a quick run off Highway 24. -
My Atosa uses propane refrigerant. Can you work on it?
Yes. R290 is propane, and we're trained and equipped for hydrocarbon work. The sealed system is handled in-house with recovery, evacuation, and a weighed-in charge. Shops that say they can't get parts usually just aren't set up for R290. -
How does the diagnostic and quote work?
The diagnostic is $75 for full troubleshooting, waived when you approve the repair, and you get a written quote before we touch anything. We carry the common Atosa failure parts on the truck, so most jobs finish without a second trip.
