Atosa in Concord
Atosa refrigeration in Concord.
Concord is the busiest part of our map and as far north as we run. Between Todos Santos Plaza, the restaurant rows downtown, and the QSR and grocery strung along Monument and Willow Pass, there's a lot of equipment running long hours, and a good share of the newer kitchens opened on Atosa. When an Atosa reach-in or prep table quits in the middle of service, the line backs up. We service Atosa as an independent shop, no dealer claims, just a crew that knows the units.
Atosa is the cheap commercial workhorse. For the money it's fine, but it sits under a True on build, so it tends to fail earlier. The upside is the fixes are quick: an evaporator fan motor, a stretched gasket, a clogged drain, a thermostat that won't hold temp. We carry those parts on the truck, so a lot of Concord calls close in one visit, with a written quote before we touch anything.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Reach-in fans and gaskets. Atosa MBF reach-ins in the Todos Santos and Monument kitchens fail at the evaporator fan motor and the door gasket. Heavy all-day door use stretches the seal inside the first year and a half, warm air sneaks past, and the box ices over within a couple weeks. We swap the gasket, clear the evaporator, and check the seal through its full swing.
- Prep-table drains. The MGF sandwich and salad tables clog at the condensate drain, grease and food bits from the cutting board plug the line, and a puddle shows up under the unit. We pull it, blow the line clear, and drop in an inline screen if the kitchen's willing. We log the work and leave a dated sticker behind the panel.
- R290 hydrocarbon work. A lot of the newer Atosa undercounters here run R290 propane refrigerant, and we're HC(A3) trained through Mainstream Engineering to work them safely under EPA #1279674151528. Concord runs on hard Contra Costa Water District supply, so on any undercounter ice we descale the evaporator plate before slow harvest turns into a no-ice call.

FAQ
Atosa in Concord questions, answered.
-
Do you service Atosa in Concord?
Yes, constantly. The newer Todos Santos and Monument kitchens run a lot of Atosa, and we service it as an independent shop with no authorization claim. Most repairs run from $250 plus parts, a clogged drain from $200. Concord is the north edge of our area, and we make the run. -
My Atosa uses R290 refrigerant. Can you work on it?
Yes. R290 is propane, and we're HC(A3) trained and EPA 608 certified for it. The sealed-system work is done in-house with recovery, evacuation, and a weighed-in charge. Shops that say they can't get parts usually just aren't set up for hydrocarbon units. -
How fast can you get to a down Atosa unit?
A dead box costs a kitchen money by the hour, so we push commercial outages to the front of the day. Tell the dispatcher you're down when you call. We run 7 to 7, seven days, dispatched from San Ramon, same number after hours.
