Main Street's restaurants and the seafood spots down at Pillar Point Harbor run Summit wine units and beverage centers behind the bar, and the homes back from the coast run wine storage and wet bars in finished garages and basements.
Salt air off the harbor is hard on units out here. Condenser fins corrode faster than they would inland, and gaskets harden sooner too, so we check the condenser first on any coastal call. We're an independent shop, EPA 608 certified for the refrigerant side, and the $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair.

- Main Street and harbor restaurant wine units. The Summit dual-zone wine units behind Main Street bars and the harbor restaurants hold two temperatures for red and white, and salt-laden air pulled through the condenser during service corrodes the fins faster than it would inland. We clean and check the condenser on every visit before we look anywhere else.
- Corroded condensers and failing fan motors. Garage and mudroom Summit units near the coast fight moisture year round, and we see condenser fins eaten through and fan motor bearings seizing earlier than they would in San Mateo or Burlingame. Cleaning the coil regularly slows this down, and once a motor's seized, we replace it rather than try to free it up.
- Gasket failure from salt air. Door gaskets on Summit units near the coast harden and crack sooner than units further inland, and a hardened gasket lets in warm, damp air that fogs the glass and frosts the cabinet. We replace the gasket and check the door alignment so the new one seals evenly.
