- Tight-install compressor faults. A lot of Berkeley Summits live in cramped apartment and ADU cabinets where the unit can't breathe. That cooks the compressor, and you get short-cycling on the overload before it quits for good. Early on it's a relay, overload, and airflow fix. We confirm whether you've got a freestanding unit boxed in or a real front-venting built-in before we quote anything.
- Beverage centers and wine units. The hill remodels and the cafes run Summit glass-door beverage centers and dual-zone wine cellars. When they drift off temp or one zone won't hold, it's typically the cooling deck, an evaporator fan, or a control that's lost calibration. We rebuild and dial those back in.
- Gaskets, thermostats, and fan motors. Heavy-use undercounter Summits in cafe kitchens lose their door seals fast, and a torn gasket means a box that frosts or runs nonstop. Worn cold controls freeze product solid or never pull down. Evaporator and condenser fan motors pack up with dust. All of that is standard truck-stock for us.

Yes. Apartment and in-law-unit Summits are some of our most common Berkeley calls. We service them as an independent shop with no factory-authorization claim. -
Does Berkeley's water affect my Summit beverage unit?
Berkeley's municipal supply is on the softer side, so scale is less of a problem than in the deeper East Bay. On a plain refrigerator or beverage center that's not really a factor anyway. If you've got an ice-making unit tied in, we'll check the water circuit while we're there. -
