We clean it, check the fan blades and fittings for corrosion while we're in there, and set a shorter cleaning interval for coastal properties.
- Undercounter ice maker slow to harvest. Coastside water runs harder than the Redwood City side of the Peninsula, so scale builds on the evaporator plate and sticks the float. We descale the circuit, swap the filter, and confirm the fill cycle before we leave.
- Dual-zone wine reserve losing its split. If a 2218 or 3036 reserve on the coast stops splitting the two zones, look at the DC damper actuator first, it fails open more than anything else on these units. I replace it, recalibrate both sensors, and leave a thermometer running overnight to confirm the fix held through a full day-night swing.
