- Compressor short-cycling in condo-scale kitchens. The newer Bay Road and University Circle units often install the U-Line into a run of cabinets sized smaller than the manual calls for. The compressor overheats and short cycles. I check clearance first, since that's usually the actual cause, not a symptom to chase around.
- Ice maker harvest slowing behind a tight install. In these condos an ice maker running slow almost always comes down to scale on the evaporator plate and a stuck float valve, same fundamentals as anywhere, just compressed into a smaller footprint with less airflow to help the machine along. We descale, swap the filter, clear the inlet line, and check that the gap behind the unit still meets install spec.
- Wine unit losing its temperature reading. A wine unit in these condo installs that won't hold its number sometimes isn't a compressor problem at all. The sensor connector works loose from vibration in a shared-wall building, and the control board reads it wrong. We reseat or replace the connector and confirm the reading holds before moving on.
