Traulsen is the kind of cabinet we like getting a call about. It’s built for the abuse a working kitchen hands out, and it’s built so a tech can actually take it apart and fix it. When one goes down, repairing it almost always beats buying new. Keep one tuned and it’ll run for years. The failures we see come from age and miles on the unit, not from anything wrong with how it was made.

Thermostat trouble is the call we get most on Traulsen. The cabinet drifts warm or stops holding its setpoint once the thermostat goes out of calibration or quits altogether. We diagnose the fault on site, then provide a written repair estimate before any work starts.

Refrigerant leaks tend to surface somewhere past the 15-to-20-year mark. Years of vibration and slow corrosion eventually crack the sealed system open. This is the bigger repair, and it’s the one most general appliance guys aren’t set up to handle, legally or otherwise. We carry EPA Section 608 certification (EPA #1279674151528) and do sealed-system work in-house with proper recovery, evacuation, and a weigh-in on the charge. We provide a written repair estimate after the on-site diagnosis. Completed sealed-system repairs carry a 2-year parts and labor warranty.

Door gaskets are the part that quietly kills a unit when maintenance slides. A torn or hardened gasket lets warm air leak past the seal, so the compressor never gets a break and your power bill climbs. Replacing one is among the cheapest fixes on the whole cabinet, and it saves the compressor from running itself into the ground. Let it go and you’ll shorten the life of everything downstream.

Tight access, having to pull a neighboring unit out of the way, or needing a second set of hands can push it higher. The $99 service call is a flat fee that covers a full diagnostic, and it gets credited toward the repair. You’ll get a written quote before we turn a wrench.
