Refrigeration in Walnut Creek.

Refrigeration and ice repair in Walnut Creek

Walnut Creek runs the most restaurant traffic in the Diablo Valley, and that volume lands hard on the equipment. Downtown and the Broadway Plaza side are wall-to-wall full-service kitchens, sushi counters, steakhouse bars, and gelato shops, with grocery anchors like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s behind them. Every one of those venues lives on a walk-in, a row of reach-ins, and at least one ice machine working through the lunch and dinner rush. When something quits, food’s on the clock.

We service commercial refrigeration and ice equipment across Walnut Creek and stock the truck so most calls close on the first visit.

What’s in town and how it fails

Downtown kitchens lean on True and Beverage-Air reach-ins, Turbo Air and Atosa prep tables, and Traulsen or Continental walk-in boxes. Bars off Locust and North Main run Perlick and Beverage-Air back-bar coolers. Ice is mostly Manitowoc and Hoshizaki. The usual failures here are predictable: walk-in compressors short-cycling, condenser coils caked from a busy back-of-house, evaporator fan motors seized, prep-table thermostats drifting warm, and door gaskets torn from a thousand pulls a shift.

Ice machines are their own headache. Central Contra Costa water off the EBMUD system runs moderately hard, and that scale builds on evaporator plates and water lines. We see Manitowoc and Hoshizaki units making thin or cloudy cubes, slow harvest, or no harvest at all. Andrew is Manitowoc-certified, factory-trained through the Manitowoc Ice and Koolaire field service seminar on Indigo NXT, NEO, QuietQube, and Koolaire. We descale, replace water-circuit parts off the truck, and get the cube count back.

Sealed systems and high-end residential

We hold EPA #1279674151528 for refrigerant recovery, and we’re trained on R290 hydrocarbon units, which matters for a lot of the Atosa and modern reach-ins around town. Sealed-system work, recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in all happen in-house.

The Rossmoor, Northgate, and Saranap neighborhoods carry a lot of Sub-Zero and U-Line built-ins and wine storage. We service those as an independent shop alongside the commercial work.

Same-day when you’re down

A failed walk-in in a downtown Walnut Creek kitchen is an emergency. Tell us you’re down when you call and we’ll prioritize you. We run 7AM to 7PM, seven days, dispatched from San Ramon, and Walnut Creek is a short run up 680.

Diagnostic is $75, waived when you approve the repair, with a written quote before any work. We’re independent on Hoshizaki, True, Turbo Air, Beverage-Air, Atosa, Traulsen, Sub-Zero, and the rest, no factory-authorization games. Call (925) 999-4095 or email [email protected]. We’re part of ADRIUM Service Solutions, alongside Bay Area HVAC Service and Bay Area Refrigeration Service.
