Turbo Air in Millbrae
Turbo Air refrigeration in Millbrae.
Millbrae kitchens run hard along Broadway, where dim sum houses and banquet halls push their Turbo Air reach-ins and prep tables through long weekend services. Add the hotel and catering kitchens near SFO, and you have equipment that rarely gets a quiet hour. We repair that equipment as an independent shop, so we work on your schedule and not on a manufacturer's service network.
The bay sits close here, and the marine air carries salt. That salt settles on condenser coils and fins, and over a season it insulates the coil and starts corrosion on cabinets and fasteners. A Turbo Air unit that cooled fine in winter can start running warm by late summer for no reason the kitchen can see. We check coil condition first on coastal calls, because it explains a large share of high-temperature complaints.
Andrew Kuznetsov owns the shop and works out of San Ramon. We are EPA 608 certified, licensed under CSLB #1136642, and we handle R290 hydrocarbon units, which many newer Turbo Air merchandisers and under-counters use. Every visit starts with a $75 diagnostic that we waive when you approve the repair, and you get a written quote before we order parts or open a sealed system.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Salt-fouled condenser coils on reach-ins. Coastal air off the bay loads condenser coils with salt and grime, which chokes airflow and drives head pressure up. On Broadway reach-ins we clean and comb the coil, test the condenser fan motor, and look for early corrosion on the cabinet and hinges. Clean airflow is the cheapest way to hold box temperature through a busy service.
- Prep table drift during banquet volume. Dim sum and banquet lines open prep table lids hundreds of times a shift, and the pan wells warm up faster than the evaporator can recover. We check the evaporator coil for ice, clear the drain, verify the fan and thermostat, and confirm the gasket still seals. Often the fix is a clogged drain and a tired gasket rather than the compressor.
- R290 merchandiser and under-counter cooling. Many newer Turbo Air merchandisers and under-counters run on R290, a hydrocarbon refrigerant we are equipped to service safely under our EPA 608 certification. When one of these cools poorly we test the sealed system, inspect the door and glass for condensation, and confirm the fan and defrost cycle. We do not open an R290 circuit without the right leak checks in place.

FAQ
Turbo Air in Millbrae questions, answered.
-
How long does it take you to reach Millbrae from San Ramon?
We are based in San Ramon and take 680 out to the San Mateo Bridge. Depending on bridge traffic the drive runs about 40 to 50 minutes. We book Millbrae visits in blocks so a coil cleaning or a compressor call fits into the same trip along the Peninsula. -
What does a service call cost up front?
The visit starts with a $75 diagnostic, and we waive that charge when you approve the repair. You get a written quote before we order parts or open a sealed system, so nothing goes on paper until we have looked at the unit. -
Do you service the hotel and catering kitchens near SFO?
Yes. We cover Millbrae, Hillsborough, and the SFO food service corridor for commercial refrigeration and ice. As an independent shop we are not tied to one brand's network, so we can look at your Turbo Air line alongside the rest of your cold side.
