Turbo Air in Foster City
Turbo Air refrigeration in Foster City.
Foster City was built as a planned waterfront community, so most of the housing here is condos and townhomes clustered around the lagoons, a lot of it managed by an HOA. That means most of our Turbo Air calls in Foster City are built-in undercounters and wine units set into remodeled condo kitchens, not restaurant reach-ins, though the retail strip along Foster City Boulevard does have a handful of small commercial kitchens too.
HOA buildings add a scheduling step that a standalone house doesn't. Garage access, elevator reservations, and a property manager who needs notice before a service visit are all normal here, and I plan for that instead of showing up and hoping the front desk lets me through.
We're based in San Ramon, but our Peninsula technician works out of neighboring San Mateo, so Foster City sits just a few minutes down the road, not a special trip across the bay.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Built-in undercounters in remodeled condo kitchens. A Turbo Air undercounter set into custom cabinetry during a condo remodel often ends up with less clearance than the unit needs, and restricted airflow shows up as high head pressure and a cabinet that never gets quite cold enough. I check clearance and venting before assuming the sealed system is at fault.
- Wine units losing temperature control. A wine unit that drifts off its setpoint is usually a thermostat or control board issue rather than a refrigerant problem, since these units run a narrower, more sensitive range than a standard fridge. I test the control and the sensor before I open anything on the sealed system.
- Compressor and sealed-system faults. Older built-in units lose their charge slowly enough that nobody notices until the box is running warm most of the time. Bringing it back right takes a full recovery, evacuation, and recharge under EPA #1279674151528, sized for a smaller built-in unit instead of a commercial box.

FAQ
Turbo Air in Foster City questions, answered.
-
Can you work with our HOA's building access rules?
Yes. I coordinate with the property manager or front desk ahead of time for garage entry and elevator scheduling so the visit isn't held up once I arrive. -
What's the diagnostic fee?
$99 up front for the diagnostic, credited toward the repair. I put the quote in writing before ordering parts or opening the unit. -
How fast can you respond in Foster City?
Foster City sits just down the road from where our Peninsula technician is based in San Mateo, so it's a short trip rather than a special one. I still won't promise same-day for every call, but it's never waiting on a drive across the bay from San Ramon.
