- Merchandiser hinges and gaskets giving out early. The Kelvinator KCGM beverage merchandisers along Highway 1 wear through door hinges and gaskets faster than the same units a few miles inland, since the salt in the air breaks down rubber and pits the hinge pin. We rebuild the door hardware with corrosion-resistant parts where we can.
- Sealed-system leaks near the ocean. Brazed joints and fittings corrode and can develop a slow leak faster out here, and we recover, evacuate, and weigh in the charge under EPA #1279674151528 rather than just topping off the gas. We're R290 hydrocarbon trained for the newer self-contained Kelvinator units running propane refrigerant.
